Erie police have charged a Florida man with scamming his insurance company by claiming his pickup truck was stolen in the city in August.
Munkhbold A. Enkhtaivan, 34, of New Port Richey, Fla., is free on $20,000 unsecured bond following his arraignment Wednesday by Erie 1st Ward District Judge Sue Mack on felony counts of insurance fraud, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
Police accuse Enkhtaivan of selling a pickup truck to another person for $17,900, then reporting to his insurance company in August that the truck was stolen and receiving $18,250.28 from the insurance company, Lt. Dan Spizarny wrote in the criminal complaint.
